Motörhead Cancels U.S. Tour
Motörhead has canceled its U.S. tour due to singer/bassist Lemmy’s recent foot injury.
The tour was scheduled to kick off September 10 in West Hollywood, Calif., with dates scheduled through early October. The band says it will return for a U.S. tour in March 2005.
Lemmy hurt his foot in August in the middle of the band’s European festival tour. He finished out the remaining shows against his doctor’s advice, but his injury worsened. At the advice of his U.S. doctor, he plans to stay off the foot for several weeks.
“Lemmy, guitarist Philip Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee hate to disappoint their fans but it is necessary for Lemmy’s injury to heal so that Motörhead can rock long into the future,” the band said in an official statement.
Motörhead’s European dates, which kick off November 3 in the U.K., are still on.
