But, you cry, spring is so far away. Luckily, those hungry for a more immediate Decemberists fix will get a special treat this January as frontman Colin Meloy embarks on a solo trek through U.S. clubs.

The tour begins January 13 at Seattle’s Triple Door and will visit similar “intimate settings” in eight cities, including a two-night stand at Hollywood’s Hotel CafĂ©.

Merch hounds are in luck, as Meloy will be selling a tour-only EP of “Morrissey rarities covers,” and artist Carson Ellis – who has contributed cover art for all the Decemberists’ releases – will be selling limited-edition prints at all shows.

The Decemberists spent much of this year on the road in the U.S. before heading overseas for a fall European tour. Their most recent release, an EP called The Tain, hit stores in February.
