A Jem Of A Guitarist
His guitar majesty, Steve Vai, and his specially made Ibanez Jem guitars will be moving across the states March and April, and not just in a small way. Vai will be shredding approximately 20 dates in each of the months, coast-to-coast.
With Eric Sardinas in support, the guitarist starts off in Tempe, Ariz., March 1 and winds up at L.A.’s Wiltern LG April 30. Fans in France aren’t left out, either, and will get a piece of the action February 5 at Paris’ Theatre Du Chatelet.
Vai has been playing lately with his former teacher, Joe Satriani, on the G3 tour. The guitarist’s storied career includes being discovered by Frank Zappa, who learned of Vai while he was still at the Berklee School of Music.
Vai is also known as the devil’s guitarist in the movie “Crossroads,” as well as the patron saint of many a guitar shredder.
