Mercuriadis Rises In Sanctuary Changes

Merck Mercuriadis has become worldwide CEO for The Sanctuary Group in a move up from his post as Sanctuary U.S. CEO.

The 18-year company veteran will work alongside executive chairman and co-founder Andy Taylor and group finance director Mike Miller.

Along with Mercuriadis, a number of execs have had their roles redefined. Sanctuary Artist Services (excluding North America) CEO Aky Najeeb expands his territory by taking the same title worldwide, and Sanctuary Records Group CEO (excluding North America) Joe Cokell becomes CEO, Sanctuary Recorded Music Worldwide.

Sanctuary Records Group North America President Tom Lipsky becomes CEO of the sector, and Sanctuary Artist Management co-presidents Carl Stubner and Peter Asher will become CEO and president, respectively, of their division.

Bill Leibowitz also expands his role, becoming general counsel for Sanctuary Group Worldwide after serving as counsel for the U.S. unit.

All will remain in their current locations: Mercuriadis, Lipsky and Leibowitz in New York; Najeeb and Cokell in Great Britain; and Asher and Stubner in L.A.
