The Diary Tour will kick off on Friday, February 25, 2005 in Miami following the Grammy Awards. Keys will hit large theatres and “intimate” venues in 34 cities across the United States.

Soul singer/songwriter John Legend will open all dates.

The complete itinerary hasn’t been confirmed, but it is known that Keys will play her hometown of New York City on April 22 at Radio City Music Hall. She hits Los Angeles March 16 & 17 and Atlanta on April 6& 7 at the Fox Theatre.

One far less intimate venue will be a performance at the Super Bowl in Jacksonville on February 6 when she plays during the pre-game show.

The tour will conclude on April 23 in New Jersey at the PNC Bank Arts Center.

“This tour is going to be completely different – completely classy, edgy and fun,” Keys said January 10. “Having a setting of maybe 4,000 makes it so much more special and intimate.”

Keys is up for for eight Grammy Awards including album of the year for The Diary of Alicia Keys, and song of the Year for “If I Ain’t Got You.”

Her 2001 debut album, Songs in A Minor, won the R&B singer five Grammys, but the 23-year-old says she’s not feeling any pressure for a repeat performance.

“I just like to go with the flow and let God handle the rest,” she said.

She did say she has some surprises planned for the tour production.

“It’s going to be like a minimovie when it’s all done,” she said.

Tickets for the first leg of The Diary Tour will go on sale January 22 through Ticketmaster.
