Dash’s New Music Group

Roc-A-Fella Records co-founders Damon Dash and Kareem “Biggs” Burke have formed Damon Dash Music Group as part of a joint venture with The Island Def Jam Music Group.

The new company’s artist roster includes Nicole Wray and the legacy of Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

Under the deal, Dash will also serve as a consultant for IDJ, working with artists Cam’ron, Beanie Sigel, N.O.R.E. and others.

In December, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter was named president/CEO of Def Jam Recordings following IDJ’s acquisition of Roc-A-Fella.
