Kentucky Bank Names Center

The Bank of Kentucky has entered into a naming rights agreement for the 8,000- to 10,000-seat arena at Northern Kentucky University’s planned $53.5 million special events center.

Under the deal, the bank will pay the lesser of either $6 million or 10 percent of the construction costs in exchange for naming the arena The Bank of Kentucky Center for 20 years, according to The Kentucky Post.

The venue is expected to host at least 120 events a year including concerts.

The facility is tentatively scheduled to open in 2009, the paper said, but it still needs financial approval from the state legislature before construction can begin.
