Krauss & Co. Swing Through
Krauss herself used to get the lion’s share of the attention whenever the media reported on her band, but lately credit is being spread around equally.
Guitarist and singer Dan Tyminski has become a mini-celebrity in his own right since recording “Man of Constant Sorrow” for the “O Brother Where Art Thou?” film soundtrack. Jerry Douglas – a guest of the band that might as well be considered a member – may be the greatest steel guitarists to ever come out of Nashville.
Krauss and her cohorts kick things off at St. Louis’ Fox Theatre March 1st. Their tour runs hot and heavy throughout the beginning of that month, with more dates starting April 8th in Macon, Ga. Some of the bigger cities include Phoenix, Fresno, Atlanta, cincinnati, New York and Boston.
Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas wrap things up at Detroit’s Fox Theatre April 22nd. Well, that’s not exactly true: The band has a date with Merlefest in Wilkesboro, N.C. May 1 and plays Telluride, Colo. June 19th.
