Chesney Takes Spill, Cancels

Kenny Chesney had to cancel the first three dates of his tour after tearing ligaments in his right ankle.

Chesney apparently took a fall on a set of stairs. After consulting orthopedic specialists in Nashville, the country star canceled shows in Green Bay, Wis., Fargo, N.D., and St. Paul, Minn., beginning March 11th.

The shows are expected to be rescheduled for later in the month.

In the meantime, Chesney was expected to perform upcoming shows with his ankle taped or with a brace under his boot. He is set to play the RodeoHouston / Houston Livestock Show March 9th because it shouldn’t be as strenuous as his usual performance.

He is said to need “extensive” physical therapy and rehabilitation.
