The new group will be unveiled at the Higher Ground Ballroom in South Burlington, Vt, on April 1. The show will benefit the Vermont Land Trust, an organization that supports the conservation of public lands in that state.

The former Phish frontman will then take the group on tour starting April 26, playing the Landmark Theatre in Richmond, Va. Several more dates in the South will follow before playing a few dates in the upper Midwest and ending with two shows at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York on May 13 and 14.

While best known for his work with one of the most popular touring acts of the past decade, Anastasio been involved in a number of groups over the years. He was was one-third of Oysterhead, with ex-Police drummer Stewart Copeland and ex-Primus bassist Les Claypool, and he’s worked with Philip Glass, John Medeski, and Marc Ribot.

Recently, he was touring with a nine-piece band featuring a full horn section.
