Lyman, Chiappardi Form New Label

Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman and Bob Chiappardi of Concrete Marketing have created Warcon, a “lifestyle entertainment company” designed to go beyond the traditional role of the record label.

The company will include touring, publishing, design, media and clothing divisions, and all releases will be packaged with a DVD magazine. Universal Music Group-owned Fontana will distribute the company’s releases.

“We are all about developing bands that can sustain long careers as touring acts,” Lyman said.

Chiappardi added, “Just selling music only is a problem. Therefore, we started a lifestyle entertainment company.”

The label’s first two artists are Bleed The Dream and Opiate for the Masses. Both are currently on the Taste of Chaos tour, produced by Lyman’s 4-Fini Inc.

According to the company’s Web site, “everything that Warcon produces will be synonymous with the hardcore, post-metal and screamo lifestyle.”
