Allen Exits Rose Quarter

Microsoft co-founder and Portland Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen is cutting more ties with the Rose Quarter complex in the Oregon city.

At the end of basketball season, he’ll shut down his concessions company and Rose Quarter eatery, leaving the facility without a full-service restaurant.

The move will also eliminate as many as 60 jobs.

When Allen handed over control of the Rose Garden Arena to a group of lenders, the new owners brought in Global Spectrum to manage the venue.

Global Spectrum, in turn, asked its affiliate, Ovations Food Services, to handle the food and beverage business, leaving Allen’s company in the cold.
