Opera House Gets Name Sponsor
Boston’s recently reopened Opera House will become the Citizens Bank Theatre under a seven-year sponsorship agreement between the bank and venue owner
Citizens Bank CEO Robert Smyth said the company is planning ticket giveaways, community events and other promotions at the venue.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is speculated to be worth less than the $8.5 million, 10-year deal first offered by CCE to Citizens Bank and other institutions in December 2003.
The 77-year-old theatre reopened last July after a $35 million restoration by CCE.
