And Mike Gordon, the jam band’s bass player, has done anything but disappear. This spring he sits alongside the legendary Leo Kottke for a series of gigs. The two already have a collaborative record named Clone, and the second – Sixty Six Steps – is on its way.

A national headlining tour is planned for September and October. In the meantime, Gordon and Kottke are taking Steps to festivals and other gigs in June and July, with percussionist Neil Symonette.

Along with the , the two men will perform at Portland’s Northwest String Summit, Quincy, Calif.’s and New Mexico’s Taos Solar Music Festival, along with other appearances. A sole headlining gig takes place at the very pretty Mountain Winery in Saratoga, Calif., July 2.
