Billy Joel Leaves Rehab

Billy Joel has checked out of The Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif., after about a month of treatment for alcohol abuse.

At press time, the 55-year-old piano man was back home in Long Island, N.Y., with his wife, 23-year-old Kate Lee. He postponed two concerts last month when he entered rehab.

Joel checked into Connecticut’s Silver Hill Hospital in June 2002 for what he later said was alcohol abuse.
