New Comedy Fest In Vegas

AEG Live is partnering with HBO on The Comedy Festival, a new four-day event this fall on the Las Vegas Strip.

Caesars Palace and the Flamingo Las Vegas will host the fest, which is scheduled to have more than 50 performances, events and screenings. The inaugural edition will take place November 17-20, with both hotel-casinos providing concert venues and convention space including the 4,148-capacity Colosseum at Caesars and the Flamingo’s 2,000-capacity ballroom, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Organizers aim to showcase all aspects of the comedy genre, with portions devoted to standup, special events, sketch comedy, film work and more.

HBO and event sponsor TBS will televise certain segments of the festival. TBS said it will air the event’s climax – a two-hour special called “Earth To America” featuring sports stars, musical performers and celebrities including Tom Hanks, Steve Martin and Cameron Diaz.
