Eminem Lawsuit Settled

Eminem and his record label, Eight Mile Style, have agreed to an undisclosed financial settlement with Apple Computers Inc. and others in a copyright infringement lawsuit.

Lawyers on both sides say the case was solved amicably.

The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court in Detroit last year, stemmed from an ad for Apple’s iTunes featuring a 10-year-old singing Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.” It was run on Apple’s Web site and MTV numerous times over three months in summer 2003, allegedly without the rapper’s permission.

Also named in the complaint was MTV, its parent company Viacom and ad agency TBWA/Chiat/Day.
