Zooma Doomed

The Zooma tour, featuring former Phish frontman Trey Anastasio and Ben Harper& the Innocent Criminals, has been canceled by organizers according to a statement posted on the tour’s official Web page May 27th. Tickets, which went on sale May 14th, are being refunded through the outlets of purchase.

Bonnaroo Music Festival producers A.C. Entertainment and Superfly Productions, organizers of Zooma, didn’t specify the reasons for the cancellation, but the statement suggests slow ticket sales might be the culprit.

“The Zooma Tour was conceived to provide fans with a n exceptional musical and entertainment experience,” the unsigned statement said. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, it has become clear that it would not be possible to provide that experience at the level initially envisioned.

“Rather than go forward with a tour that falls short of what was conceived, everyone involved has mutually agreed that it is best to cancel the tour altogether.”

In additional to Anastasio and Harper, the tour was to have included a rotating cast of supporting artists including Medeski Martin & Wood, Toots & The Maytals, Jurassic 5, Galactic, G. Love & Special Sauce, The Black Keys, Gomez,Ray Lamontagne, and Donavon Frankenreiter.
