Sister Act
Calgary-born duo Tegan and Sara Quin were in the U.S. earlier this year promoting their latest album, So Jealous, and opening for The Killers on a number of date.
The sisters Quin begin their next tour of the U.S. on June 9 at the House of Blues in San Diego. After a couple more dates in California, they will shoot off to the East Coast for shows from Georgia to Massachusetts.
After a gig in Nashville on July 21, they head out toward the Midwest, finishing the month off with a show in Englewood, Colo. on July 30. The tour finishes up with three shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
They are scheduled for two more dates in September: Seattle’s Bumbershoot Festival on the 5th and Austin, Tex. on the 24th.
Tegan and Sara are known for offering up banter that could kill at top comedy clubs.Fans even trade MP3s of their stage stories, which the sisters swear is unrehearsed and the product of what Tegan calls “verbal diarrhea.”
The sisters began playing and writing music as kids, but scored a major break in 2000 when they were signed to Neil Young’s Vapor Records.
From there, they began to climb the social ladder of the music business, opening for such artists as Rufus Wainwright, Ben Folds, Ryan Adams, and Neil Young himself.
