In the aftermath of London’s July 7th terrorist bombings, a number of concerts in the city have been canceled or postponed.
Sum 41‘s July 7th gig at The Astoria was called off, as was a performance by The Prodigy at Brixton Academy scheduled for the same day. Representatives for the venues and bands have not announced whether the dates will be rescheduled.
Maceo Parker had planned to finish a run at Jazz Café July 7th, but his show has been postponed to November 28th.
Blue‘s July 7th concert at Wembley Arena Pavilion was axed, but the group’s shows the next two nights at the same venue are still on. It is unclear whether the first show will be made up later.
Two shows at Hyde Park have been postponed for a week: Queen + Paul Rodgers was moved from July 8th to July 15th, and R.E.M. was shifted from July 9th to July 16th.
At least 33 people were killed and hundreds injured when four blasts ripped through the subway system and a double-decker bus on the morning of July 7th.
