Last Roundup For Garrett Shed
The Pat Garrett Amphitheater in Strausstown, Pa., is heading for its final roundup, with the announcement that this will be the last season of country music concerts for the venue, according to its owners.
Pat Garrett and Suzy Dalton opened the 3,000-capacity shed in 1994 and have presented such artists as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings,
But concert promoting is a full-time job on its own, and Garrett is itching to get back to working on his music full time.
“I love music, but concert promotion isn’t making music – it’s strictly business,” Garrett was quoted as saying in Allentown, Pa.’s Morning Call newspaper. “And while a few concerts a summer doesn’t seem like a lot, promoting even one show is a heck of a lot of work. I want to go back to concentrating on making music.”
