Courtney Feels The Love

A Los Angeles judge praised Courtney Love for her progress in a drug treatment program less than 48 hours after she was taken to an area hospital from an industry party at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel July 21st.

Love didn’t appear at the hearing, but her attorney said that after reviewing her case, a judge concluded the substance-challenged grunge diva was “progressing well.”

In addition, the troubled singer had regained full custody of Frances Bean Cobain, her daughter with late rocker Kurt Cobain, earlier in the week.

The rehab program and progress report are part of her plea agreement from the 2003 case in which Love was charged with various counts including being under the influence and in possession of a controlled substance.

She reportedly felt faint at the Roosevelt Hotel party just after midnight, and a friend called an ambulance as a precaution. Authorities initially described the incident as a report of a drug overdose, according to the Los Angeles Times.

However, police later backtracked on that report, citing confidentiality provisions and identified Love only as “Courtney L.”

“Right now, all I can tell you is that she is fine,” Adam Schneider, one of Love’s reps, told the newspaper.

“A friend called the ambulance for precaution, they took her to the hospital and she was released immediately,” a publicist said.

Another friend told the Times that Love was in no medical danger and the entire matter was blown out of proportion because she’s a regular target of gossip.

The dizzy spell came the night before the release of “Last Days,” director Gus Van Zant’s fictional film based on Cobain’s life and death.
