TBA Snags PGI

Corporate events and lifestyle marketing firm TBA Global Events has acquired event coordinator Production Group International, which will allow the merged company to increase its annual revenue to about $175 million.

The purchase also means TBA will increase its client base to Canada and Europe, the company stated.

A struggling Nashville-based TBA Entertainment was acquired by Irving Azoff, Robert Geddes and JHW Greentree Capital last year. Since then, the company has been focusing on corporate events, including the “America’s Future Rocks Today” concert at the 2005 presidential inauguration, and brand marketing.

Meanwhile, the new version of TBA, headquartered in Southern California, has abandoned the old company’s endeavors in artist management.

Washington, D.C.-based PGI is responsible for more than 2,500 events throughout North America and Europe, according to TBA, and its client roster includes Exxon Mobil, Ford, IBM, Aventis, Nestle Foods and Anheuser Busch.
