An Elevation For Chicago

Clear Channel Entertainment’s regional offices have returned to their heritage names (Bill Graham Presents, Pace Concerts, Cellar Door, etc.), but what about Chicago? Until recently, the Windy City’s office still functioned under the Clear Channel banner.

The division has been renamed Elevated Concerts, in reference to the city’s famous elevated trains, or the “El” for short.

Other branches had names and reputations prior to the roll-up but CCE’s presence in Chicago came about afterward. The company competes with the city’s major indie promoter, Jam Productions.

The Elevated Concerts office has Scott Gelman as chief talent buyer and promotes throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. It books shows at East Troy, Wis.’ Alpine Valley Music Theatre; Milwaukee’s Marcus Amphitheater; Rosemont, Ill.’s Rosemont Theatre and Allstate Arena; Tinley Park, Ill.’s Tweeter Center; and the temporary stage at Chicago’s Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island.
