Branson Promoter Succumbs To Cancer

Branson, Mo., promoter Bill Dailey died of pancreatic cancer August 5th.

Dailey, 76, was credited with helping build Branson’s lively entertainment scene after moving to the town in 1979. He opened numerous venues including the Country Music World and Americana theaters, and paved the way for more than 30 more.

About 400 people attended his funeral, which was held at his latest project, the New Shanghai Theatre. Dailey planned his own memorial service with the help of his fellow entertainers, singer Bill Lennon said.
