NFL Kickoff Concerts
The NFL will kick off football season September 8 with concerts in three cities.
Green Day and Santana will perform from Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., while Maroon 5 and Kanye West will be outside the Los Angeles Coliseum, as part of a free concert.
Trisha Yearwood will perform the national anthem from Gillette Stadium where the show will be hosted by Freddie Prinze Jr.
The Rolling Stones get in on the act with recorded performance footage from their August 31 concert in Detroit as part of “NFL Opening Kickoff 2005” – a one-hour pregame special on ABC airing September 8.
The show, which will feature live performances from the NFL opening day concerts, will lead into the season opener between the Patriots and Oakland Raiders at Gillette Stadium.
