Fall’s Looking Bright
The tour kicks off in California October 22 at the Santa Barbara Bowl. Conor Oberst and his latest ensemble of supporting musicians will stay on the West Coast for a couple of weeks, including the October 29-30 Bridge School appearance, before heading through the northern Plains states.
Theatres in the Midwest and South will get their share of the Eyes before the tour wraps with a week or so of East Coast dates, finishing up with two shows in Jersey City, N.J.
Bright Eyes released two albums in January, the acoustic-minded I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning and the more electronic Digital Ash In A Digital Urn. Oberst dedicated one tour to each disc – taking Saddle Creek labelmates The Faint along as his backing band for the Digital Ash outing – and is expected to give a healthy mix of his catalog, performed with a full band, at this fall’s shows.
Get your tickets quick, though: Bright Eyes has sold out most of its several dozen shows this year.
