The Doves’ third album, Some Cities, debuted at No. 1 this year in its native U.K. Although the trio is huge at home, American radio has been slow to catch on. But they’ve been steadily winning fans over with plenty of determined touring, including a U.S. run this past spring with support from Mercury Rev and Longwave.

This fall’s efforts begin September 12 at Boston’s Avalon, with Longwave on board again.

East Coast stops will include a September 14 appearance at Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Warsaw as part of the annual CMJ Music Marathon. They’ll swing by the Austin City Limits Music Festival in Texas a couple weeks later as they make their way through the South and Midwest, with VHS Or Beta opening on several dates.

Come October, the band will head back up to Staten Island, N.Y., for the and fly out west the next week for the inaugural U.S. edition of the U.K.’s Download Festival. The latter will also feature The Killers, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse and more at Mountain View, Calif.’s Shoreline Amphitheatre.

Before heading home, the Doves will play two House of Blues shows at the company’s Anaheim and San Diego venues October 10 and 11, respectively, with Marjorie Fair opening both nights.
