Stones Make An Even Bigger Bang

Just days after launching the U.S. and Canadian leg of A Bigger Bang tour, The Rolling Stones have unleashed 14 new concert dates.

Included in those new dates are shows for Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

The Stones also announced more support acts for their 2005 dates. Opening for the band on selected dates will be Alanis Morissette, Jason Mraz, Wilco, Joss Stone, Toots & The Maytals, Los Lonely Boys, Trey Anastasio, and Merle Haggard.

That’s right. Merle Haggard. The country music legend will appear in Dallas on November 29th.

The 2005/06 tour was originally announced in May and commenced August 21st at Boston’s Fenway Park when Mick and the boys launched into what has become the band’s trademark show opener, “Start Me Up.”

A few new U.S. dates for 2006 trickled in early this week, including yet another night in Boston – this time at the TD Banknorth Garden arena – and more shows for NYC and Chicago. Some secondary markets were added as well – St. Louis, Omaha, Baltimore and North Little Rock.

A Bigger Bang stops next at Rentschler Field in Hartford, Conn., August 26th, then moves up to the Great Lakes region and Canada before rumbling the Midwest, Eastern Seaboard and on across the continent.
