Judd, Brock Get Day Jobs

Usually the advice to a budding artist is “don’t quit your day job.” Comedian Cledus T. Judd and recording artist Chad Brock have it the other way around; they went out and got one.

The country performers signed multi-year deals to co-host a Monday through Friday morning radio show at WQYK-FM in Tampa, Fla., which began August 19th.

Billed as the first country radio show to be hosted by current recording artists, the program will team Judd and Brock with regulars Steve Austin and Rita Ciccarella from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Both artists continue to tour, though mostly on weekends, and reps say the day job isn’t expected to interfere with their road duties.

Brock has hosted a radio show before in his hometown of Ocala, Fla., and told Tampa’s WTSP-TV, “The love of my life is out there on the stage and playing music but slowing down and being a dad, being home more, is my focus.”
