The tour begins on September 17 in Pittsburgh, then heads South through major cities in Kentucky and Tennessee. A show in Baton Rouge, La. will follow on September 21.

The Walkmen will move on to Texas for shows over the next five consecutive days, starting in Houston, followed by shows in Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas. After the Texas shows, the band will head to Atlanta on September 28. A gig in Columbia, S.C. will follow on September 29, and the tour will wrap up in Carrbor, N.C. the next day.

According to the band’s web site, The Walkmen are currently working on a new album at their studios in Manhattan. The new material will on display throughout all of the shows. This will be their third album, the follow-up to 2004’s critically acclaimed Bows + Arrows.
