They’ll give fans a taste of their latest album this, um, fall, on a tour of their native U.K. spanning more than two dozen dates.

The tour will last more than a month, beginning October 1 in Manchester. They’ll hit Sheffield, Liverpool, Glasgow, Oxford and more than 20 other cities throughout the month, finishing with two shows at London’s Islington Academy November 2-3.

The band will reportedly participate in John Peel Day October 13, although details have not been confirmed. Venues and bands all over the country are performing in honor of the late BBC DJ that day – the anniversary of his last broadcast. The Fall was Peel’s favorite band.

The band recently released The Complete Peel Sessions 1978-2004, a six-disc box set covering every appearance they made on the show.

At last count, The Fall’s ever-shifting lineup comprised Smith on vocals and guitar, drummer Spencer Birtwistle, keyboardist/backup vocalist Elenor Smith (a.k.a. Mark’s wife), bassist Steven Trafford and guitarist Ben Pritchard.

The band’s new release, Fall Heads Roll, is due October 3 on the Sanctuary-owned Slogan label in the U.K. Narnack will release the U.S. version.
