Rest, Rehab For Courtney
Love admitted relapsing with an unidentified controlled substance in August, a violation of probation in three criminal cases.
Superior Court Judge Rand Rubin credited the 41-year-old singer/actress for the 28 days she spent at the rehabilitation center and extended her probation to March 2007.
Love “fully intends to make good on her promise to be clean and sober, and I’m hoping she’ll be able to do that,” attorney Howard Weitzman said after the hearing, which lasted less than five minutes.
In another development, a woman who accused Love of attacking her while she was asleep in 2004 has sued the singer for an undisclosed amount.
Love pleaded no contest in February to misdemeanor assault in the case and was sentenced to three years’ probation.
The grunge diva also paid $2,705 in restitution to the victim, musician Kristin King, whose lawyer, Gloria Allred, said the amount did not fully compensate her client.
