The group took a break from the road earlier this year to record its new album, but the disc is done and the band is back in full force.

The album’s title track, “Lights and Sounds,” is already out on the Electronic Arts game “Burnout Revenge,” and the band is currently storming through Canada, with dates scheduled there through September 26.

They’ll cross the border September 29 to play Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., and Moto Music Mayhem in Lake Elsinore, Calif., a week and a half later.

In late October, Yellowcard will put the pedal to the metal, playing theatres and colleges throughout the South. They’ll cover most of the rest of the country in November, making their way back to the West Coast to finish at Anaheim, Calif.’s Chain Reaction December 1.

The band is using this tour to give fans a sneak peek at Lights And Sounds, which is due January 24. The group recorded the disc in Los Angeles this year after touring for two years in support of Ocean Avenue, its Capitol debut.

Last year began with an opening run for Eve 6, followed by a three-month co-bill with Something Corporate. After appearing on the Vans Warped Tour, Yellowcard headlined a lengthy fall trek on which they regularly sold out 4,000-seat arenas. In other words, get your tickets quick.
