Gambling On Reopening

With parts of the Big Easy beginning to welcome back businesses and residents, Pinnacle Entertainment’s Boomtown New Orleans riverboat casino on September 30th became the first gambling hall to swing open its doors, more than a month after Hurricane Katrina blew through.

Located across the Mississippi from downtown New Orleans in Harvey, La., Boomtown received all the necessary approvals to reopen from local and regional authorities, according to Pinnacle.

“We have great faith in the future of New Orleans, and we’re pleased to be able to open our doors again to our employees, our customers and our neighbors,” Pinnacle Chairman/CEO Daniel Lee said.

“We’re determined to do everything we can to help the region and our employees rebuild.”
