IAAM Granted Security Wish
The Department of Homeland Security has given a $750,000 grant to the International Association of Assembly Managers Foundation for programs to address venue security.
DHS handed out a total of $30 million to 15 organizations for training initiatives.
The funds will also be used for IAAM’s online Vulnerability Self-Assessment Tool, which assesses the current emergency plans of a facility and offers suggestions for better security.
“This grant will allow IAAM’s Life Safety Council to continue pursuing its primary focus of educating venue managers on safety and security measures,” IAAM President David Ross said.
There were 267 applicants for the grants, according to the association.
