Louis Nye Dies

Comedian Louis Nye, who created the catch phrase “Hi, ho, Steverino!” as one of the players on the Steve Allen Show in the 1950s, died of lung cancer October 9th at his Los Angeles home.

Nye, 92, was already an established comic when he joined the groundbreaking TV show in 1956, appearing regularly in nightclubs, on radio and television.

The master of voices and accents continued to work regularly until he retired a couple of years ago.

Nye had a recurring role on HBO comedy “Curb Your Enthusiasm” from 2000 to 2002.
