The veteran comedian has just announced a number of solo performances at theaters throughout the West Coast and South.

The dates announced are scattered, with 14 shows spanning the next six months or so.

Following an October Arkansas gig, Florida, Colorado and Texas are booked for the weekend of November 4-6, and she’ll hit Southern California in late January. She’ll tour Louisiana, Texas and North Carolina February 10-14 and head back to Florida and California in the next couple months. A Madison, Wis., date is on the books for early April.

It’s been four decades since Tomlin first moved to New York City from her native Detroit to try her hand on the comedy club scene. She worked her way up to a starring role on “Laugh-In” within a few years, and since then has won six Emmys, a Tony, a Grammy and numerous other honors for her long and multi-faceted career.

These days, her one-person show encompasses at least a dozen of the characters that have made her famous, including Ernestine the telephone operator, Sister Boogie Woman and Mrs. Beasley.
