AFTRA Covers Latin Grammy Performers

Performers at this year’s Latin Grammy Awards will be paid union wages and benefits under an agreement between Latin Grammy officials and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

This will be the first time performers on an awards show broadcast in Spanish will be covered by AFTRA.

Previously, Latin artists worked under AFTRA guidelines for shows broadcast on English-language networks.

The Latin Grammys will be broadcast live November 3rd from Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on Spanish-language network Univision.

The network will be responsible for artist residuals or other performer fees for additional broadcasts.
