DMX Faces Prison

Rapper DMX is facing a 60-day prison sentence after pleading guilty October 25th to violating the conditions of his release following a car crash last year at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

He is scheduled to be sentenced November 17th. DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, pleaded guilty last December to reckless endangerment and admitted to taking Valium when he smashed his sports utility vehicle into a gate at the airport in June 2004.

The rapper was sentenced to a conditional discharge, meaning further violations within a year could land him in jail.

Since the incident, Simmons has been cited for two traffic violations. He admitted in court that he had committed the violations while his driver’s license was either suspended or revoked, according to the Queens district attorney’s office.
