Nearly three decades later, Wayne’s dream of a full-scale live production of the musical drama is finally coming true.

Next spring, Jeff Wayne’s “The War of The Worlds” will come to life on U.K. stages, with help from The Black Smoke Band – fronted by Moody Blues singer Justin Hayward – and a 48-piece orchestra, the ULLAdubULLA Strings.

“I have waited for almost 28 years to present The War of The Worlds – combining the excitement of live performance complemented by various technological ingredients that will hopefully give our audiences a night to remember,” Wayne said.

Clear Channel Entertainment is producing the 13-date tour, which spans April 13-29. Several venues, including London’s Royal Albert Hall and Glasgow’s Clyde Auditorium, are already sold out.

Brighton, Cardiff, Manchester and Newcastle are among more than a dozen cities on the schedule.
