According to a post on the festival’s Web site, downtown Ft. Lauderdale was still without power and running water as of October 30, with all events in the area called off for at least three to four weeks. The Web site was updated via generator.

The Riverwalk fest, originally scheduled for November 3-6, has been tentatively rescheduled for February 9-12, 2006.

Tickets already purchased will be honored at the rescheduled festival. Ticket-holders seeking refunds should contact the festival directly, according to the site, although fans are urged to wait until after November 22 to attempt to get through.

As of November 1, half a million Florida Power & Light customers in the area were still without electricity, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Acts that had been scheduled to play the postponed dates included Shemekia Copeland, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience, The Iguanas, Pinetop Perkins, Steady Rollin’ Bob Margolin, and Tinsley Ellis.
