The group launched TalkTheTour.com November 7, with the promise that one tour date would be revealed for every 33,000 hits the site received.

A wealth of prizes were also promised for fans who signed up to join Coldplay.com, including the chance to receive a phone call from Coldplay singer Chris Martin, meet and talk to the band, and attend the 2006 Grammy Awards.

The site, which also offered fans a sneak peek at the band’s new video, was bombarded with hits, resulting in the entire itinerary being displayed two days later.

The dates announced span January 25 to April 6, with two additional Los Angeles shows promised at an as-yet-undisclosed location. Tickets for most dates will begin going on sale November 19.

Fiona Apple will open the first half of the tour, running through March 5 in Tampa, Fla. Richard Ashcroft will take over for the second leg, which kicks off March 20 in Cleveland.
