The band’s fifth album, Road To Rouen, arrived in September and they are set to cross the Pond in February for a 15- date trek, kicking off on February 6th in Toronto.

Supergrass – Gaz and Rob Coombes, Mick Quinn, and Danny Goffey – celebrated the release of Road To Rouen with an international acoustic tour, which on occasion saw drummer Goffey replacing his hi-hat with a hat box and his bass drum with a briefcase.

The U.S. got a mere three shows on the earlier tour but the upcoming itinerary will be electric, indeed.

The ‘Grass enter their second decade with what is being called their most mature collection to date. Some critics couldn’t adjust to the the band’s less-poppy, more innovative sound (what would the British press do if it couldn’t tear down pop stars?) but the album and the new shows have received glowing praise from those who get it.

“It’s no longer instant catchy guitar pop but like seeing The Doors crossing paths with the Velvet Underground en route to a Pulp gig. Unexpected and impressive,” said one paper.

The band is currently wrapping up a European tour and will close out the year by opening for Foo Fighters in London on December 18.
