MTV Latin Awards Canceled

The 2005 MTV Video Music Awards Latin America, postponed in October due to Hurricane Wilma, will not take place after all.

The show was scheduled to be held in Playa del Carmen on Mexico’s Caribbean coast for the first time.

An MTV spokesperson told Pollstar the network will instead air a special program announcing this year’s award winners in December.

The program will be broadcast on MTV Español in the U.S.
