Concord Acquires Telarc

Independent record company Concord Music Group has acquired Cleveland-based classical and jazz label Telarc International Corp.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Included in the transaction is Heads Up International, which became a part of Telarc in 2000.

“The cultures of our companies are very similar and we see lots of synergies through the merging of our talented staffs and our mutual goals,” Telarc President Bob Woods said.

Telarc’s catalog includes recordings by Dave Brubeck, John Pizzarelli, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and more.

The Heads Up International imprint has Michael Brecker, the Yellowjackets, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Hugh Masekela and others on its roster.
