Gucci Mane Charges Dropped

Prosecutors dropped murder charges against rapper Gucci Mane December 29th, saying they did not have enough evidence to try him in the slaying of another rapper.

Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, had been accused in the May 10th shooting of Henry Lee Clark III. He said he shot Clark in self-defense when Clark and four other men attacked him.

Meanwhile, Davis sits in an Atlanta jail after pleading no contest to assaulting promoter Troy Bufford with a pool cue June 14th at Atlanta’s Big Cat Records.

He was sentenced to six months and will remain on probation for six and a half years. Davis also agreed to pay medical bills of about $3,000.

Attorney Manny Arora said Davis should be released in January.
