Red House President Dies

Red House Records president Bob Feldman, 56, died at his St. Paul, Minn., home January 11th.

The cause was unknown at press time.

Feldman resurrected Red House Records, founded by singer-songwriter Greg Brown, about 20 years ago while teaching a high school course called “How To Start Your Own Small Business With No Money.”

He followed his own advice and took up his role of label chief full time in 1986.

The roster includes John Gorka, Lucy Kaplansky and Jimmy Lafave.

Feldman was a passionate champion of indie music and was known to settle differences with his artists by leg wrestling.
