The former frontman for The Verve will support Coldplay in North America from March 20 through April 6, squeezing in a few headlining shows of his own in Canada beforehand.

After an April 6 show at Philadelphia’s Wachovia Center, Ashcroft will head home and get ready for his U.K. run. He’ll start in Glasgow May 8 and hit eight more cities through May 19. He’ll wrap at London’s famed Brixton Academy.

The singer plans to keep track of his travels with a tour blog on his official Web site.

His third solo album, Keys To The World, is set for release in late January.
