Now J. Mascis, Murph and Lou Barlow are going for round two with a round of U.S. dates this spring and the possibility of a new recording.

The tour spans nearly a month, starting March 29 at the Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas, and includes a number of cities that weren’t on the itinerary last year. The band will spend ample time in the South and Midwest before wrapping on the West Coast with double shows in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Before the tour kicks off, the trio will spend a month at Mascis’ home studio recording new material. No further details have been confirmed, but fans at this spring’s shows will likely be keeping an ear out for unfamiliar tunes.

A live concert DVD, filmed last December and directed by Mascis’ brother-in-law, German filmmaker Phillip Virus, is scheduled for release this summer.
